Securitize taps Wormhole as primary interoperability solution

Securitize, a real-world asset tokenization platform partnered with BlackRock and Hamilton Lane, has announced its integration with the interoperability protocol Wormhole.

Integrating Wormhole (W) as its primary interoperability solution, Securitize can now offer cross-chain support for its users.

Securitize will leverage this partnership to offer greater liquidity and flexibility for institutional investors, the platform said in a press release. What this means is that clients can now easily transfer funds tokenized on the platform across multiple chains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism and Polygon networks.

Wormhole, a protocol that has grown to power over $55 billion in cross-chain volume, will allow Securitize to bring benefits of interoperability to tokenized assets of BlackRock, Hamilton Lane and KKR among others.

Securitize co-founder & chief executive officer Carlos Domingo commented:

“This enables our clients’ tokenized assets, like BlackRock’s BUIDL, to scale seamlessly across new networks, further expanding access and liquidity for investors.”

This is the latest collaboration between Securitize and Wormhole and follows an earlier partnership that saw the BlackRock-backed platform tap into Wormhole for cross-chain messaging.

In September, Securitize said it would leverage the protocol’s technology to power interoperability for asset managers.

Several platforms and crypto protocols have integrated Wormhole technology for interoperability. These include recent partnerships with stablecoin issuers Agora and Transfero, as well as restaking platform Nuffle Labs and DeFi platform Infinex. Multi-asset class liquidity provider Flow Traders also tapped Wormhole for multi-chain token swaps.

Other major partnerships include with cloud computing giant Google Cloud, USDC issuer Circle, tech company AMD and top DEX platform Uniswap.
